Take a Photograph Every Day: Day 9

I was down and out for most of the evening with a headache, and I almost forgot to do this today.

This is a prayer plant (Maranta leuconeura erythroneura) and I bought it from a Home Depot about five years ago as a tiny wee plant. Now, its leaves hang four feet from a basket in a long vine-like stem. I only just realized that they curl their leaves up and night and open them during the day. They're so pretty, but quite sensitive; they burn in direct sunlight. It's a curious thing for a plant to reject sunlight, isn't it?
